Garret McCurry

Hello my name is Garret McCurry and I am a pretty freaking awesome bro. I am a freshman at Georgia Tech and am studying mechanical engineering. I am also a brother of the fraternity of Beta Theta Pi here at Tech. I am originally from the city of Savannah, Georgia where I graduated from Jenkins High School. I absoluetly love the beach or pretty much anything that has to do with the water. Even though Tybee Island might not be the best beach in the world, it is still my home over the summer. I enjoy skimming, surfing, and just plain hanging out while I'm there. I'm going to miss it this summer while I'm taking summer classes at Armstrong. I also enjoy boating just as much as I do the beach. I like water skiing and wakeboarding and teaching "noobs" how to do both as well. Other than those sports, I pretty much like playing anthing else. My favorite sport on land would have to be soccer which I absolutely love. I'm a pretty nice, easygoing guy that is always down for "bro-ing out".

I am a freshman Mechanical Engineering student at Georgia Tech.  I grew up in Tinley Park, Illinois which is a suburb of Chicago. The adjustment to life in the South has been pretty easy. I especially enjoy the weather that enables me to start the baseball season much sooner than I would be able to back home. My involvements include playing on the Yellow Jacket Baseball Club Team and being a member of the Commencement Committee for the Student Alumni Association as well as hosting prospective students for the Connect With Tech program. I enjoy any type of sport and played baseball, football, basketball, and swam on my high school teams. I am also a brother of the Georgia Tech Chapter of the Delta Chi fraternity, which just celebrated its 20th Anniversary on the Georgia Tech campus.  I enjoy learning about and experiencing different cultures, so this summer I will be traveling Europe and studying at Georgia Tech Lorraine in Metz, France.

John Merlie

My name is John Merlie and I am a first year studying Mechanical Engineering at Georgia tech. I am a brother of the Kappa Sigma fraternity here and a member of the Georgia Tech Rugby Football Club.  I am originally from Houston, Texas, but I have lived in Peachtree City, Georgia, both Maturin and Caracas in Venezuela, and most recently Charlotte, North Carolina where  I graduated from Myers Park High School.  My main interests and hobbies include anything dealing with cars and boats, as well as anything that has an engine.  Aside from those I enjoy playing rugby as well as ultimate frisbee, beach volleyball, and water sports. I plan to graduate from Georgia Tech and pursue a career that has something to do with cars, though I have no idea what specifically.

Hello, my name is Joey Caforio. I am a freshman at Georgia Tech, and I am studying Business Administration. I am also a brother of the Sigma Chi fraternity. I grew up in Marietta, Georgia, where I graduated from Walton High School. There I played both football and baseball all four years. I also enjoy playing golf in my spare time as well. I am a huge college football fan, and I love to travel to different campuses throughout the south to watch a lot of the games. Freshman year has gone by fast, and I look forward to starting my second year at Tech in the fall.
